We're small business owners too

We built Freehold because we got tired of the subscription treadmill. We were paying $20 here, $50 there, $100 somewhere else—every month, forever—for tools we didn't own and couldn't control.

We started asking: What if we built the tools we actually wanted? One-time purchase. Real ownership. Fair pricing. Tools that respect small business owners instead of extracting rent from them forever.

This isn't a VC-backed moonshot. It's a practical business making practical tools for people like us. We sell software once and move on. No venture growth demands. No VC exit fantasy. Just small business software that's actually small-business friendly.

What does "buy once" actually mean? +

You pay once and own the software license forever. No subscriptions. No renewal fees. You can use it as long as you want. If we ever go out of business, we'll open-source the code so you can run it yourself.

How does email sending work if there's no monthly fee? +

Email delivery costs money (we use reliable providers like SendGrid). For small lists, that cost is roughly $0.20/month. You pay that once upfront as part of your setup. Freehold takes no cut. You own the relationship with your email provider.

What if Freehold shuts down? +

If we shut down, we'll open-source Freehold Email so you can keep running it. You'll own the code. Your data is always yours to export in standard formats.

Do I really own my data? +

Yes. 100%. Your contacts, your email history, your everything. It's in your database. You can export it anytime in standard formats (CSV, etc.). We have zero claim to your data.

What's your refund policy? +

30 days, no questions asked. If Freehold Email doesn't work for you, we'll refund your purchase. Once you've owned it for 30 days and it's working for your business, the sale is final—but that's fair: you own the license forever.

How do I get started? +

Email us at hello@freeholdtools.com and tell us you want in. If you're a founding user, you'll lock in $5 pricing (first 10 only). We'll get you set up and answer any questions. No long onboarding process—just get you running.

Can I upgrade to a higher price tier? +

Yes. If you want more features or priority support as we add them, you can upgrade to a higher tier and we'll credit what you've already paid. But the base tool? One price. Forever ownership.

Is Freehold Email actually ready to use? +

Yes. We're working with early customers to refine it and add features, but the core is solid. You'll be part of building the product you want.
